John and Archie McLinden started the business in 1947. At that time it began as a shoe repair business and they carried a few children's shoes. Over the years the store has expanded to a huge variety of shoes, handbags, hosiery, and shoe and foot care products. The business is still family owned and operated by John's daughter Margaret who has worked for the company for 27 years.
McLinden's Shoes celebrated our 62nd anniversary in 2009! Over the years styles have changed, the industry has changed, but one thing remains unchanged: Our focus is on quality footwear products and customer service.
